I started running in january of 2004 to get in shape. I had gained too much weight and felt terrible. I was able to run my first 5K 3 months later. I have continued to push for greater goals and have run 3 marathons and I am training for a 4th now.

As I start this blog I am reminded of my start to running. In January of 2004, I suddenly got this urge to " get healthy". As most people do around the first of the year I had tried for years to keep my New Year's Resolutions and failed each time. But this time would be different. As I worked at the gym 5 days a week I started to feel different - this may have been sign my life was going to change or could have been just bad Moo Shoo Pork. but as the weeks went by I found a new energy. Lasting at first only a 1/4 mile on the treadmill - I was building up to a full mile. With encouragement from friends and relatives - I got the bug. As I started running outside and with others I found that my enthusiasm for running and health overall had changed. As I now work towards qualifying for the Boston Marathon, I will present my training in this blog and pass on new information for others trying to accomplish the same thing.
